The Hidden History of Oz is a prequel series of novels and stories that leads up to L. Frank Baum’s original novel, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

There are a few things you need to know about this version of Oz:

• Everything in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz novel is canon. Beyond that, Baum’s stories are treated as suggestions.
• Nothing in The Hidden History of Oz can directly contradict canon. If it seems to go against the grain, there is a reason for it.
• The Land of Oz is powered by human dreams. Therefore, the magic of dreamers is what makes Oz magic.
• Nobody in Oz dreams.
• The Wizard is a dreamer. His unfiltered dreams change the land around him. He is considered normal where he comes from, but in Oz, he is extraordinary. That is why he is the Wizard.

The primary character in the Hidden History of Oz series is Glinda. The series follows her from her adolescence through wise adulthood. Glinda is the backbone of the Hidden History of Oz. Other characters may play significant roles, and may even have their own books and stories, but these are supplementary to Glinda’s story.

This version of Oz brings back the Celtic feel of old Ireland, where the faerie magic held sway. When this faerie country is introduced into the new world of ideas and freedom, brought by the young Wizard, everything changes. Join Glinda on her journey of adventure, heartache, discovery, and wonder as she grows from angry teenager to the most powerful sorceress in the Land of Oz.
